A Battle Forever Remembered

The battle of Iwo Jima was immortalized by Joe Rosenthal's photograph of the raising of the U.S. flag by five Marines and one Navy Corpsman on top of Mount Suribachi. Later this same historic battle image was captured again in a historically magnificent Marine Corps War Memorial also called the Iwo Jima Memorial outside the walls of the Arlington National Cemetery where so many heroes have been laid to rest.
