Formed at Tongue Point Naval Station in 1964, Air Station Astoria, Oregon has provided support across the full range of Coast Guard missions for more than 40 years.
Air Station Astoria operates as part of Coast Guard District Thirteen, covering an area of responsibility that stretches from the Queets River in Washington State to Cape Kiwanda on the Oregon Coast. Conducting law enforcement, search and rescue, environmental protection, and aids to navigation operations throughout northwest Oregon and southwest Washington, the members of Air Station Astoria also assist the National Motor Lifeboat School and the Advanced Rescue Swimmer School, both located in Ilwaco, Washington. Additionally, they provide logistical support to the Pacific Area 210-foot Alert and USCGS Steadfast, both homeported in Astoria, Washington.
